Author Guidelines

- General Guidelines
- Manuscripts submitted to JAMES must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration in any other journal.
- All manuscripts must be written in English, following the APA 6th edition citation style.
- The article length should be 5,000–8,000 words, typed in Avenir Next LT Pro font, size 11 pt, 1.15 line spacing, on A4 paper size.
- Submissions must follow the JAMES article template exactly.
- The similarity index (checked via Turnitin or Grammarly) must be below 20%.
- Manuscripts must be submitted through the Open Journal System (OJS) platform.
- Manuscript Structure
Each manuscript must follow the standard format as shown below:
Title
- Written in bold, 14 pt, and centered.
- The title should be concise and specific, clearly reflecting the content of the paper.
Author(s) and Affiliation(s)
- Author names (10 pt) without academic titles.
- Affiliation(s) and country name (9 pt).
- Include an email address of the corresponding author.
Abstract
- 100–200 words, written in past tense.
- Should be informative, self-contained, and summarize:
- Research purpose or problem
- Method used
- Main findings or results
- Theoretical or practical implications
- Novelty or contribution
- No citations are allowed in the abstract.
- Provide 3–5 keywords (9 pt) separated by semicolons.
- Introduction
- Present the background, problem statement, and research objectives.
- Explain the significance and rationale for the study.
- Summarize previous relevant studies briefly and logically.
- Avoid making a full literature review; only cite key supporting works.
- Clearly state the research question(s) or hypothesis.
- Avoid subsections in this part.
- Methods
- Describe how the research was conducted clearly and in detail.
- Include:
- Research design and approach
- Population and sampling techniques
- Instruments and materials used
- Data collection and analysis procedures
- Validity, reliability, and assumptions
- Statistical methods applied
- Scope and limitations
- This section must be comprehensive enough to allow replication of the study.
- Results and Discussion
- Present and interpret findings objectively and analytically.
- Discuss how the results answer the research questions.
- Compare findings with previous literature and explain theoretical or practical implications.
- Avoid restating results or making unsupported interpretations.
- Figures and tables must be original, clear, and properly captioned.
- Number tables and figures consecutively, and include their titles and sources (if adapted).
- Avoid subsections in this part.
- Equations and Formulas
- Must be written clearly, centered, and numbered consecutively on the right margin.
- Example:
a+b=c(1)
- Conclusion
- Provide a synthesized summary of the key insights.
- Clearly answer the research questions and state the main contributions.
- Highlight the significance and originality of the study.
- Do not restate the abstract or introduce new information.
- Normally consists of one to three concise paragraphs.
- Acknowledgment
- Acknowledge individuals or institutions that contributed to the research (e.g., funding bodies, technical or editorial support).
- Include grant numbers or funding sources if applicable.
- References
- Follow the APA 6th edition format.
- Only include sources cited in the text.
- Use reference management tools such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote.
- References should be recent (within the last 5–10 years); older sources (>20 years) may not exceed 25% of the total.

- Ethical Considerations
- Authors are responsible for the integrity and originality of their work.
- All authors must have significantly contributed to the research.
- Manuscripts must comply with JAMES’s plagiarism, withdrawal, and copyright policies.
- Submission Process
- Register and log in to the OJS portal.
- Prepare the manuscript using the official JAMES template.
- Submit the manuscript and upload all required documents, including:
- Publication declaration form
- Plagiarism report
- Ethical statement (if applicable)
- The editorial team will conduct an initial screening (formatting and plagiarism).
- Eligible manuscripts proceed to double-blind peer review.
- Decisions may include: Accept, Minor Revision, Major Revision, or Reject.
