  1. General Guidelines
  • Manuscripts submitted to JAMES must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration in any other journal.
  • All manuscripts must be written in English, following the APA 6th edition citation style.
  • The article length should be 5,000–8,000 words, typed in Avenir Next LT Pro font, size 11 pt, 1.15 line spacing, on A4 paper size.
  • Submissions must follow the JAMES article template exactly.
  • The similarity index (checked via Turnitin or Grammarly) must be below 20%.
  • Manuscripts must be submitted through the Open Journal System (OJS) platform.
  1. Manuscript Structure

Each manuscript must follow the standard format as shown below:

Title

  • Written in bold, 14 pt, and centered.
  • The title should be concise and specific, clearly reflecting the content of the paper.

Author(s) and Affiliation(s)

  • Author names (10 pt) without academic titles.
  • Affiliation(s) and country name (9 pt).
  • Include an email address of the corresponding author.

Abstract

  • 100–200 words, written in past tense.
  • Should be informative, self-contained, and summarize:
    1. Research purpose or problem
    2. Method used
    3. Main findings or results
    4. Theoretical or practical implications
    5. Novelty or contribution
  • No citations are allowed in the abstract.
  • Provide 3–5 keywords (9 pt) separated by semicolons.
  1. Introduction
  • Present the background, problem statement, and research objectives.
  • Explain the significance and rationale for the study.
  • Summarize previous relevant studies briefly and logically.
  • Avoid making a full literature review; only cite key supporting works.
  • Clearly state the research question(s) or hypothesis.
  • Avoid subsections in this part.
  1. Methods
  • Describe how the research was conducted clearly and in detail.
  • Include:
    1. Research design and approach
    2. Population and sampling techniques
    3. Instruments and materials used
    4. Data collection and analysis procedures
    5. Validity, reliability, and assumptions
    6. Statistical methods applied
    7. Scope and limitations
  • This section must be comprehensive enough to allow replication of the study.
  1. Results and Discussion
  • Present and interpret findings objectively and analytically.
  • Discuss how the results answer the research questions.
  • Compare findings with previous literature and explain theoretical or practical implications.
  • Avoid restating results or making unsupported interpretations.
  • Figures and tables must be original, clear, and properly captioned.
  • Number tables and figures consecutively, and include their titles and sources (if adapted).
  • Avoid subsections in this part.
  1. Equations and Formulas
  • Must be written clearly, centered, and numbered consecutively on the right margin.
  • Example:

a+b=c(1)

  1. Conclusion
  • Provide a synthesized summary of the key insights.
  • Clearly answer the research questions and state the main contributions.
  • Highlight the significance and originality of the study.
  • Do not restate the abstract or introduce new information.
  • Normally consists of one to three concise paragraphs.
  1. Acknowledgment
  • Acknowledge individuals or institutions that contributed to the research (e.g., funding bodies, technical or editorial support).
  • Include grant numbers or funding sources if applicable.
  1. References
  • Follow the APA 6th edition format.
  • Only include sources cited in the text.
  • Use reference management tools such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote.
  • References should be recent (within the last 5–10 years); older sources (>20 years) may not exceed 25% of the total.
  • Examples:

  1. Ethical Considerations
  • Authors are responsible for the integrity and originality of their work.
  • All authors must have significantly contributed to the research.
  • Manuscripts must comply with JAMES’s plagiarism, withdrawal, and copyright policies.
  1. Submission Process
  1. Register and log in to the OJS portal.
  2. Prepare the manuscript using the official JAMES template.
  3. Submit the manuscript and upload all required documents, including:
    • Publication declaration form
    • Plagiarism report
    • Ethical statement (if applicable)
  4. The editorial team will conduct an initial screening (formatting and plagiarism).
  5. Eligible manuscripts proceed to double-blind peer review.
  6. Decisions may include: Accept, Minor Revision, Major Revision, or Reject.
